Workshops

Agent in a Day

Microsoft's official hands-on workshop for building AI agents in Copilot Studio - delivered by FutureAbility, and kept up to date as the platform evolves. You leave having built working agents, with the confidence and clarity to build your own.

What the day covers

The official Microsoft curriculum - four modules, four hands-on labs. You build as you go, from your first agent to multi-agent orchestration.

01

Microsoft 365 Agent Builder

Start where your team already works. Build your first agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot - from web-grounded assistants to SharePoint-connected agents.

02

Copilot Studio fundamentals

Create an agent from scratch. Ground it in your knowledge sources, extend it with tools, and understand what makes a good agent good.

03

Multi-agent & channels

Manage conversation state, build specialised child agents, and deploy to the channels your organisation actually uses - Teams, web, and beyond.

04

Orchestration & chaining

How generative orchestration routes requests, and the dynamic chaining patterns that take agents from prototype to production.

Kept current

Copilot Studio keeps evolving. So does this workshop.

Because our team works with these tools every single day, we supplement the official Microsoft course content with insights about where things are heading, practical ways we're using new features, and the things that don't quite work as they should yet.

Real notes from the field, so you leave with clarity and confidence that your day was well spent. One example: there's a new agent-building experience in Copilot Studio that we're already using on projects - we'll show you what it means for what you build next.

Taught from the field

This isn't a course read from a script. We build agents for Australian organisations every day, and the workshop carries that experience with it.

Best practices from real builds

Patterns and pitfalls from agents running in production - the things the official slides don't tell you.

Every type of agent

Contextual assistants, supervised agents, autonomous patterns - and the cases where the right answer isn't an agent at all. We'll talk about that too.

Confidence to build your own

You leave understanding the difference between the agent types, what to build first, and how to get going in your own tenant.

Common questions

Who is Agent in a Day for?

Anyone who wants to build agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio - business users, analysts, IT teams, and makers. If your organisation has Microsoft 365, this is the fastest way to get hands-on.

Do I need development experience?

No. Copilot Studio is a low-code tool, and the workshop starts from your first agent. The later modules go deeper - multi-agent architecture and orchestration - but everything is built hands-on, step by step.

Is the content up to date with the latest Copilot Studio?

Yes. Copilot Studio evolves quickly, and we keep the workshop current - including field notes on new features we're using on real projects, and where the platform is heading.

What will I be able to do afterwards?

Build your own agents in Copilot Studio, ground them in your organisation's knowledge, extend them with tools, and know which type of agent fits which problem - and when the right answer isn't an agent.

When does it run and how do I register?

We host Agent in a Day online every two to three weeks. Dates and registration are on Microsoft's events catalogue - or contact us to arrange a private session for your team.
