Modern Slavery Statement

About us

FutureAbility Pty Ltd (ACN 643 974 314) is a software company that builds software and application solutions for businesses. The organisation's annual consolidated turnover is under AU$100 million. Although not required to make a modern slavery statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), the company voluntarily publishes this statement to demonstrate commitment to ethical trading principles and outline steps taken to identify and combat modern slavery and human trafficking in business operations and supply chains. This policy applies to all staff, agents and suppliers within Australia and overseas where applicable.

Modern slavery

Modern slavery includes any conduct constituting modern slavery under the Act, encompassing:

  • Child labour
  • Human trafficking
  • Forced labour
  • Debt bondage
  • Deceptive recruitment for labour and services
  • Slavery and slavery-like practices
  • Servitude
  • Other forms of serious exploitation

Indicators of modern slavery include excessive working hours, isolation, abusive working conditions, and underpayment, no payment or withholding of wages.

Our commitment to combatting modern slavery

The company implements or intends to implement these measures:

  • Investigating modern slavery allegations in business operations and supply chains
  • Engaging suppliers to prevent and identify modern slavery risks
  • Directly employing all team members at minimum or above entitlements, including leave and flexible arrangements
  • Training staff on policy obligations
  • Implementing and reviewing processes to mitigate modern slavery risks

The company expects business partners to address modern slavery within their operations and supply chains to the same standard. Suppliers and sub-contractors undergo vetting to ensure ethical labour practices commitment. The company may obtain compliance assurances before or during agreements and investigate modern slavery concerns, expecting supplier cooperation with investigations and remedial measures.

Our staff

All staff play roles in preventing, detecting, and reporting modern slavery risks. Staff must immediately notify management of actual or suspected modern slavery breaches. The company encourages reporting through regular personnel meetings and anonymous surveys. Staff must immediately notify management if engaging suppliers suspected of modern slavery or failing to prevent risks in supply chains. Further investigation and contract consistency assessment may follow.

Contravening this policy

Any policy breach may result in disciplinary action up to and including employment termination or business relationship termination.

Variations to this policy

The company may vary, remove, or replace this policy at any time.
